OUR MISSION
The FNAQ is a professional, non-profit educational, community service oriented organization, dedicated to maintain and enhance the professional development of its members, whose purpose is to uphold the positive image of its constituents. It is incorporated under Part Three of the Québec Companies Act # 023L01 registration # 1142630525.

OUR GOALS
- To preserve our tradition of caring, compassion, competence, and to promote the members’ appreciation and pride in these traditions.
- To provide and direct members to proper support systems where and when appropriate.
- To foster professional cooperation and the sharing of expertise among nurses in Quebec and other provinces of Canada,
- To promote a strong sense of professional accountability and social commitment.
- To promote the continuing professional and personal growth of members.
- To support the members in their efforts to meet their civic and social responsibilities.
- To promote and expand the leadership skills and practices of the members.
OUR OBJECTIVES
- To organize seminars and workshops which identify and appreciate the professional traits and characteristics of the nursing profession.
- To act as lobbying group and to represent where and when appropriate, the members in matters related to human rights, race relations, sexual harassment and other related issues.
- To increase members’ participation in the activities of the Order of Nurses of Quebec, the Canadian Nurses Association and the International Council of Nurses.
- To organize and sponsor professional and educational fora with other Filipino Canadian Nurses Associations.
- To function as the clearing house for the information about educational and professional conferences, to send delegates to these fora and conferences.
- To conduct workshops to update members on health-related research and professional practices.
- To act as liaison body with educational, civic, social and environmental groups in Quebec, Canada and the Philippines.
- To share expertise in professional and educational events.
- To raise funds through membership dues, honoraria earned by members, grants, and donations, to support such activities.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
- We, the Filipino Nurses are proud of our unique tradition of caring, compassion and competence, concerned with the professional and personal development of our members.
- We are a team committed and dedicated to promote and expand the leadership skills and practices of our members. We will work with each other and the community as partners who value caring, respect, accountability, excellence, and competence as they are the foundation to achieving the trust of our members and the community we serve.
- We believe that the objectives of the FNAQ become a guide in our practice. FNAQ will provide and coordinate the educational activities for the development of our members that will have a positive effect on the quality of service they provide.
- We believe that the Executive Board (EB), will assure that FNAQ functions effectively, collegially and ethically as a professional association.
- We expect and encourage participation in FNAQ activities from all members, the individual and the community at large.
OUR VALUES
- Community : We value the contribution of the community we serve and the efforts of our members, donors, and volunteers in helping fulfill our mission and ensure the continued growth of FNAQ.
- Accountability : We proudly value each other, as we assume responsibility in doing our individual and specific FNAQ duties.
- Loyalty : We value each others’ allegiance, refrain from making statements that could harm the reputation or credibility of the other person. We value positive working relationships, and healthy communications with colleagues.
- Direction : We are clearly aligned with our goals and objectives in the pursuits of our mandate. We share a sense of common purpose and priorities in our members.
- Efficiency : We are committed to managing our resources responsibly and leading the way in developing new means of achieving efficiency in our operation.
- Honesty : We will conduct ourselves with honesty, integrity, and fairness in accordance with ethical principles. We are committed to performing our activities with respect and transparency.
- Knowledge : We value learning, and continue to develop, promote and support an environment that encourages education and training among our Board members.
- Openness : We encourage new ideas, feedback , and respect differences with a spirit of inquiry and sensitivity. We work in an open environment where we continually seek to understand the needs, interest and opinions.
- Teamwork : We recognize the importance, quality, diversity and contribution of each members of FNAQ. We are committed to working together as a team, collaborating with one another and sharing our knowledge to achieve common vision and goals.
- Trust and mutual respect : We are guided by mutual respect and interaction with our advisors, members, donors, and volunteers and are committed to building a long term relationships based on trust and fairness. We respect the values and beliefs of each other.
